Welcome to the Château de Montigny
High place of the Art of the Espalier
With eight centuries of history and architecture, the Château de Montigny-sur-Aube, located two and a half hours from PARIS, on the borders of three departments (Côte d'Or, Haute-Marne and Aube) and within the National Forest Park, combines culture and heritage with horticulture and gastronomy.
Come and discover the chapel, a jewel of the Renaissance (16th century), the Orchards-Vegetable Gardens restored on their initial 19th century model, a high place of the Art of Espalier (registered as intangible cultural heritage in France by the Ministry of Culture since 2023), the moats refilled with water where swans, ducks and carp have now taken up residence and many other things...
Come and immerse yourself in the history of a property which, from the 12th century fortified house to the major works orchestrated at the beginning of the 20th century, has also known many illustrious men. This is how you will discover a great moment in our history symbolized by the Harry Truman space inaugurated in 2018 by his grandson and the French and American authorities so as to never forget his presence at the castle for several weeks, a moment in his life which forever marked the birth of a great leader.
Finally, come and taste all the delicious production, in organic farming, of several hundred varieties of fruit and vegetable crops, at La Table Des Jardiniers, our farm-inn located in the fig grove, in the orangery or on its terrace at your convenience and depending on the weather.
